Thanksgiving 2010

I was very excited for Thanksgiving dinner this because of my new found love for gravy...I discovered a couple months ago that I actually like it.  Weird, I know.
We started the festivities off at BT and -Vieve's house (Paddy's brother).  We helped out with the final preparations before the mob of people arrived.  This was the biggest Thanksgiving meal I had ever been to and was overwhelmed by the people and noise level.  There was A LOT of food and I had to be careful not to eat too much because we had round 2 at my parents house.  It was a lovely and quick time with the family.
Next we went to my parents where there was about 1/3 of the people compared to meal #1.  It was great to see my aunt, uncle, 2 cousins and my cousin's boyfriend.  I was still full from the first meal, but made sure to get a taste of everything.  It was great to catch up with family.  It is strange to think about how me, Mr KFuj and my cousins are all grown up and instead of talking about games and toys, we're talking about work and more "adult stuff".
Overall, it was a great Thanksgiving and I realize how blessed I am to have a great family and the opportunity to sit down and celebrate life with them.  Let the Christmas music begin!

Counting My Blessings

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I wanted to write down what I am thankful for.  And in no particular order.

I'm thankful for my husband, Paddy.  Boy do I love this guy!  If you would have told me when we first met, that we would end up getting married, I would have laughed at you.  But here we are, 2 years into marriage and loving it.  Paddy is caring, loving and always doing what he can to support our family of 2 :)  He puts up with a lot from me and he's stuck around.  I love you Paddy!

My parents...they are my number one fans!  They have always shown what it is to love and to take care of those you love.  My parents were at almost all of my softball games through my 16 year career and sacrificed a lot to get me to places where I could learn and grow.  I am thankful for Tuesday dinners with them and Saturday USC days.  I love you mom and dad!

Mr KFuj, KFuj and baby Kyle.  My favoritist big brother and his wonderful family.  Mr KFuj has been a wonderful big brother, even in his teen years when I thought he was going to kill me.  He always looks out for me and makes sure that I'm being taken care of.  KFuj is the sister I never had growing up.  I'm thankful for the happiness she brings my brother and the role model she is to me.  And baby Kyle-the cutest nephew ever (hopefully he has a sister so there won't be competition for the cutest nephew).  Kyle brings a new joy to our family and he is a blast to be around.

My in-laws.  They have been a great support system-they even let us live with them!  Whether it's cooking advice, school advice or life lessons, they offer their suggestions and want the best for us.  I'm thankful for a great second family to call my own.

Friends!  I love my friends-old and new, here and gone.  Each friend has made an impact on my life and has made me who I am today.  I'm thankful for all the good times and bad an I am excited for the times ahead of us.  I love my friends!

I have so much to be thankful for and am so blessed with what I have.  So here is a big THANK YOU!!!

Yummy Dinner again!

We didn't take a picture this time of our yummy dinner, so you will just have to take our word for it.  AND it was a quick meal.  Tonight Paddy made french toast with a hint of cinnamon...SO GOOD!  We've been told that next time we need to use a loaf of the Hawaiian bread instead of regular white bread-can't wait!
Happy Breakfast for Dinner Friday!

Weekend Getaway!

Paddy surprised me with a trip to Vegas for my birthday.  Yes, I know my birthday was in September, but with moving, school starting and life, it had to be postponed-give the guy a break  :)  All that I knew about this trip is the amount of time we were going to be gone and we were going to do "something".  It wasn't until we were on the road that Paddy showed me the itinerary and I got excited.  Not only were we going to Vegas, but we also had tickets to see the Cirque de Soleil show KA.
We made pretty good time getting to Vegas (I only required one potty stop).  We pulled into the hotel, the valet man took our car and we checked in.  We stayed at the Signature Hotel which is part of MGM Grand and it was fabulous!  We were on the 24th floor and had a wonderful suite.
Thank you honey for a wonderful weekend away!  I wish we could go on vacation every weekend!

There was an outside door that we could close for added privacy...pretty fancy...

The mini kitchen...

The HUGE tub...

Roaming the Strip...

Amazing show!

Wow, that's a lot of numbers!

Yummy Dinner!

We busted out the crock pot tonight and had a yummy yummy dinner.  Paddy put a beef rump roast in the crock pot with some other ingredients (we have a Crock Pot cookbook).  When I got home it smelled amazing in the apartment!  To accompany our yummy french dip sandwiches I made my signature potato wedges with cheese and bacon on top.
The Mexican joined us for dinner as well.  We got a thumbs up from her as well.  Yay for leftovers and another easy dinner.

Howdy from the Troudy's!

We have joined the blogging world!  Paddy (my husband) and I decided that we wanted to start a blog for a couple of reasons.  Most importantly is we wanted to start doing a better job of documenting our lives.  We don't do a very good job of taking pictures when we go out for fun events.  We want to be able to one day show our kids what their parents did before them.  Another reason we wanted to blog is because we always see random stuff as we're driving or out shopping, so instead of sending it to my SIL Kfuj to blog, we thought we'd have our own fun.
We will do our best to blog on a somewhat regular basis, but we're both pretty busy with work, school and life, so please don't have too high of expectations.  I've been really excited to start a blog and I'm glad to finally have it up and running.
